Everyone knows Apple these days. The brand stands for innovative technology, sleek design, and top quality. For mobile repair shops, Apple is absolutely indispensable: iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks come in every day for a new screen, battery, or other replacement part. But how did Apple actually get started? And what are the key moments in its history?
In 1976, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne started Apple in a garage in California. Their first product, the Apple I, was a simple computer that Wozniak mostly built by hand. It might not have looked impressive, but it was the beginning of something very big.
In 1984, Apple released the Macintosh. It was a computer with a mouse and icons on the screen; something completely new at the time. Until then, you mostly had to type complicated code. With the Macintosh, Apple showed that computers could also be easy to use and user-friendly.
After the successes of the 1980s, things started to go downhill in the 1990s. Microsoft and other brands were becoming increasingly popular, and Apple struggled to keep up with the competition. In 1985, Steve Jobs even left the company after a conflict with the board. Without his vision, Apple released products that didn’t succeed, and the company slowly lost ground.
In 1997, Jobs was brought back, and that turned out to be the turning point. He brought new energy, introduced sleek designs, and put ease of use back at the center. From that moment on, Apple’s real rise began.
With the iPod (2001) and the iPhone (2007) Apple changed the world. The iPhone combined a phone, a music player, and the internet into one device. Everyone wanted one, and iPhones are still extremely popular today.
